RP Etiquette

1) Obey Da Rulez!
So, yeah, just read the rules of the forum. Read 'em, memorize 'em, love 'em!

2) No Godmodding (AKA Godmoding)/Powerplaying (Autoing)/Metagaming
Godmodding/godmoding is, perhaps, the most annoying thing on the planet. What Godmodding/godmoding is, is a character that apparently has immortality, invulnerability, and PHENOMENAL COSMIC POWER! (without the itty bitty living space). Unable to bleed and/or die, and capable of reacting within a single micro-second (if not in a planck instant).  Point is, these dudes are bad dudes and not in a cool, fun way. What is worse is when godmod(d)ers IGNORE another person's post. In a way, people who godmod(e) tend to break the other two taboos of RP: Autoing and Metagaming.

Autoing (also known as powerplaying) is when a person controls another person's character and makes them do whatever their desired result is. Especially without consent. This ends badly, because it ends RPs and everyone just wants to leave. It's not cool. Don't do it.

Metagaming is possessing knowledge that you shouldn't. Like out-of-game information or another person's thoughts. Without the ability to read minds. It's a game ender, all in all. If your character doesn't know anything, don't magically give them ability to know everything. Just don't do it!

Ergo, don't be a godmod(d)ing li'l crumpet. You do anything of the sort and you'll be getting a boot to the head. Seriously, you'll be kicked out of the RP and if you attempt to get back in, you will be reported-- and therefore receiving a ban.

3) Originality
No one likes a Mary/Marty Sue/Stu. Don't make a rip-off character and don't use a character from a show/manga/anime/cartoon/etc. in the Sandbox. We encourage creativity and imagination. If you wanna play with your favorite character from any book/movie/manga/anime/etc., go to the General RP section. Mary/Marty Sue/Stus will immediately be disregarded and we will have to ask you to please make your character more original.

4) Character Sheets
It is important to make your character sheet first before you jump into the sandbox. It's basically a resume, and if an Admin, Super Mod, or Mod tell you to change something; change it. Don't argue. All characters must not violate rule #2. DO NOT VIOLATE RULE #2! I will not emphasize this further.

5) God-like Characters
Unlike Rule #2, God-like characters are allowed ONLY if they meet certain requirements:
a) They follow the "Norse" rules. This means that, despite having longevity, they can bleed and die. Permanently.
b) They have both strengths and weaknesses.
c) You acknowledge and understand that they are NOT all-powerful (they may seem that way to "mortals," but in actuality, they are simply stronger beings).
d) Their influence and power are heavily limited to ancient races long dead.
God-like characters are fine, so long as you don't actually make them... well... GOD-LIKE. It's complex, so there is a restriction on such ideas. Do it if you're confident you can match the parameters, or don't. Just acknowledge that Rule #2 will be there to backslap your character into oblivion.

You've been warned.

6) The Rules are Subject to Change
Read 'em and weep. These rules can be changed and expanded on if there is enough issue to warrant additions. You will be notified of this.

7) Min/Max
Despite the title of this rule, the min/max rule is meant for the amount of prose. The Sandbox requires a minimum of one paragraph per post. However, there is no maximum limit to how many paragraphs you can have in your post. So... do what you will with that information.

8 )Don't Be A Hero!
When making a scenario for the Sandbox, you are prohibited to make yourself the hero in the scenario you set up. So much so, that you cannot use your own character for the scenario. Not unless your own character is actually the scenario's antagonist! But never, ever take the spotlights from your fellow RPer. It's just rude and it becomes bothersome. So, please, don't be a hero.

9) Have fun!
